In Liberia, WHCI is planning to collaborate with local health clinic, Robert Moore Memorial Healthcare Center.
"PEP stands for post-exposure prophylaxis. It means taking antiretroviral medicines (ART) after being potentially exposed to HIV to prevent becoming infected. PEP must be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV, but the sooner you start PEP, the better". (CDC definition" from the Center for Disease Control).
"Pre-exposure prophylaxis (or PrEP) is a way for people who do not have HIV but who are at very high risk of getting HIV to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day". (CDC definition from the Center for Disease Control).
