Training Objectives

 

To become a trained Popular Opinion Leader (POL) who will encourage healthy attitudes and behavioral norms in the community.

To understand the impact of syndemics in Latino communities (i.e. the connections between HIV, mental health, domestic violence and alcohol abuse).

To increase awareness of personal resilience and of ways to increase community resilience.

To establish links with community resources, so POLs can connect communities to these resources. 

To develop and enhance skills in communication, leadership, outreach and community-based research.
