THE WATER STORIES PROJECT

The Water Stories Project is a grassroots educational resource that bridges ecology and cultural history through the arts.

First offered in Walkerton in the spring of 2002, the project encouraged residents and artists to collaborate on gathering people's stories. These stories-oral and visual, present and past-were then expressed in various art forms, in order to share Walkerton's powerful water experiences with the world.

Now, the fruits of that project-a prints exhibit & storytelling performance, as well as reflections, cautions and learnings-are available to other communities, and can be adapted to a variety of settings, including schools, galleries, libraries, festivals and conferences.

Please look at the options below, then contact the Resource Centre for information on how to bring the Stories Project to your community.
